My first impression of the Diamond Dozen slot game at Rushmore Casino was that it looked nice and classy.  Most of the symbols in the game revolve around diamonds in one way or another, making this game less cartoon or comic looking.  I think they’re aiming for a more mature group with this particular slot, but that’s not to say others won’t enjoy it.

I decided (as always) to play the maximum amount of lines per spin, which on the Diamond Dozen machine is 20 lines.  You can play for free, or anywhere from one cent all the way up to $100 per spin…I decided to wager somewhere in the middle of those two options.  Hitting spin, I found the many of the symbols to be quite feminine looking – there’s a selection of different colored diamonds, a diamond ring symbol, a rose, a purse/handbag, a young lady, and a good looking young man.  There are also a variety of diamond studded symbols, including 9, 10, J(ack), Q(ueen), K(ing), and A(ce).

Triggering the bonus level (called ‘Diamond Delight’) requires you to hit three or more white diamonds on any spin.  It’s not much of a bonus level in terms of an extra level like some slot machines offer, but what it does is lets you crack open each diamond on the screen to reveal your cash prizes.  Each of your diamond values are multiplied together and you get to collect at the end of the bonus level.  It’s got some very nice payouts when it happens, so enjoy it!  Other than the white diamonds, there are also blue diamond symbols that trigger a free spin feature.  Get three blue diamonds on any spin and you can sit back and watch the reels spin round and round for 15 free spins!  It should be noted that blue diamonds in Diamond Dozen are also played as ’scatter’ symbols, so they don’t even have to be on the same line for you to win.

Apart from the bonus levels and free spins that Diamond Dozen offers players, you can also win big without hitting any special symbol combination.  The random slots jackpot is just that – completely random and can payout to any player…you don’t even have to be playing max coins as we almost always recommend for progressive jackpot slots.  ANY spin can win the random jackpot, which usually ranges up towards $20,000 or more before some lucky slots player hits it.

Important payout symbols that you’ll be hoping for obviously include three of any diamond – white or blue.  Hit 5 white diamonds and not only will you get the bonus level, you’ll also win 3000:1 on your wager!  Next in line in terms of payouts include the attractive young man (5 of them payout 2000:1), the young lady symbol (5 payout at 1000:1), and the diamond ring symbol pays out at 500:1.  Then the rose and purse symbols are next in terms of value, paying out at 300:1.  And finally if you hit 5 of any of the 9-Ace symbols payout anywhere from 100:1 to 200:1 on your wager.

I enjoy playing diamond slots, both in offline casinos and online.  And the Diamond Dozen slots I found at Rushmore were definitely fun to play.  While I’m used to slightly more elaborate bonus levels on our local diamond themed slots, I really enjoyed hitting the bonus level on Diamond Dozen simply because the payouts were so impressive.  I think the sounds of this online slot machine match it perfectly, and if you close your eyes while playing you might even think you’re sitting in your local casino.  Diamond Dozen is a very classy slot game, keeping the cartoony feel to a minimum unlike some online video slots games.  If you’re looking to play diamond slots online on your Mac, I think Diamond Dozen is a great online replacement for your favorite slot machine.
